GARRINGREEN HOTSPOT -- An Iraqi doctor based at Dublin's Beaumont Hospital is the son of Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, the Iraqi information minister whose outlandish briefings to reporters in Baghdad earned him the nickname Comical Ali.

The doctor, Osama al-Sahhaf, studied in Jordan for nine years, and worked in Baghdad hospitals for two. Colleagues told The Star that al-Sahhaf is a well-respected and valued member of the staff.

GARRINGREEN HOTSPOT -- THe world has to sustain itself with energy within the next 40 years. John Brown, the BP chairman, has said there's no more than 40 years of known oil reserves left in the tank and 60 years worth of gas. That's with the current levels of usage and doesn't include the three quarters of the world's population who up until now haven't been able to afford energy consumption to any serious level. In Ireland, Eddie O'Connor and his Airtricity wind farms plan to fill the ever-increasing power demands of people who continue using more power and paying more for it each year.
