This is unbelievable! Unable to drum up support for its Israeli-prompted anti-Arafat 'policy', the US now resorts to big-stick tactics and floats the prospect of financial fallout if its view does not prevail. "We respect democratic processes," [a US] official said, "but there are consequences." How is this 'respecting democracy'? As for the idea of the US administration blindly accepting as gospel an Israeli report accusing Yasser Arafat of funding terrorism and supposedly adding the 'remove Arafat' sentence to their Middle East 'initiative' because of it, well that too simply beggars belief!
