... and another worthwhile (anti-war) site
The wonder of the internet was brought home again to me by the happy chance of finding a link to another great web site. The No-war Blog (also referred to as 'Stand Down - the Left-Right Blog opposing an Invasion of Iraq') is a tremendous amalgam of anti-war sentiment. Highly recommended to anyone who feels as I do about this issue.

The 'other' issue
There is a 'best of the web' programme broadcast late at night on the British ITV channel. I stumbled on it the other evening in time to catch its 10-out-of-10 review for this great site. The Electronic Intifada argues the Palestinian case through the medium of a highly intelligent and professionally presented web site which is well worth a visit.

Inspector to Comment on Iraq Declaration [AP World News]
Britain: Iraq Arms Claim a 'Falsehood' [AP World News]

It's been quite a while since I've checked the news feeds, largely because I've been engrossed with PHP and MySQL while working on my test web site. It's been a fascinating experience, and I've more or less cracked the functionality I was aiming for. Still, this is all fairly irrelevant in the context of the world situation and the continuing US/British military buildup for their longed-for 'war' against Iraq.
I don't like what I read in the first of these reports about the chief UN Inspector meeting with US officials, nor do I like the orchestrated rumblings from Britain and the US which find fault with Iraq's 12,000-page document. Do Bush and Blair seriously think they're fooling anyone with their antics? It's obvious that they agreed a sequence of events between them, since the british Foreign Secretary makes his 'falsehood' statement the day before the US is due to issue its official reaction.
It's oh so good of the US to tell us that it will stay on board with the UN process, isn't it? I wonder how long this will last? How much 'legitimacy' does the US administration feel it needs before it heads off on its unilateral agenda?
