It's been a rough couple of days on the ipaq front.

I ran the battery completely down. It wouldn't boot; it wouldn't charge (no flashing light). I left it charging in the cradle over night, and it booted just fine this morning.

Except that the ethernet card didn't work. Oops.

The relevant error message was:

modprobe: cannot locate module net-pf-10

The solution is to add the line:

alias net-pf-10 off

to

/etc/modules.conf

Some package I installed (apparently) was compiled for ipv6, but the kernal wasn't, and so I need that line. What do I care. It works now.

The other problem was that I couldn't connect over the serial line, because MS ActiveSync starts up when I boot the PC, and ties up the serial port. The solution is to remove ASink -- it'll be a cold, cold day before I ever go back to wince.
