"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

Sometimes I think the biggest argument against justification is that a hyphen makes the right edge look jagged -- unless you draw it outside the margin, like Johannes did. Even InDesign's option only approaches solving the problem. If you're going to justify text, the text should be justified, and the punctuation should *hang*, not partly hang. Else why bother.

Just saw "Being John Malkovich". The titles were great: some old Garamondish all-caps italic. Very blobby. They faded the type in, as if it were being pressed into paper, going from narrow to blobby.

It's rather a treat to see italicized caps with good letter-spacing.

Apparently they were done by Andy Jenkins and Pacific Title.
