802.11b/Wi-Fi News: News for 8/20/2002: "Starbucks, T-Mobile, and HP reveal 1,200 hot spots, new software:". Now even though T-Mobile did this in the US - what about us here in "the old world"? This is the home of T-Mobile after all -- ok, so T-Mobile in the US is Voicestream Wireless really -- but it still sucks. Ok, so the number of Starbucks is limited here too (3 in Berlin) - but we do have other places they could install public hotspots! So wake up T-Mobile. UMTS is going to be a failure anyway - so you may as well get started on the WiFi!

Getting organized: An article on keeping private and business appointments in synch.

Service Desert Germany: Frank points to an interesting article where an American complains on the lack of a service culture in Germany. Having just spent a week in America it is always something of a shock to return and then I really notice the difference. The funny thing about it is that the Germans really do know this themselves - hence the term "Servicewüste Deuschland". But do they do anything about it...

By the way Frank - your perma-links don't work.
