"My yellowness is yours, your redness is mine"

On Tuesday, 19 Mar 2002, I went to pick up my daughter, who was over playing with my neighbors' daughters at their house down the street. When I got there, the kids were in their backyard, jumping over 3 burning duraflame logs each placed in 3 tin pans (this took place under the supervision of the father.) It was a custom for celebrating the Persian new year.

Noruz, The Fire of Spring

I joined them and jumped over one myself

This tradition is said to come at least in part from Zoroastrianism (not from Islam.) Zoroastrianism is thought to have been a component of the Cathar Heresy. Something I had never heard of in my some 12 years of Catholic school education.

If you really want to blow your mind about European and Christian History (and even the founding of the U.S.), read the books by Baigent and Leigh and Lincoln, a taste of which you can get from this summary...

If you read a bit about the Crusades, it puts Osama Bin Laden in a whole new light.
