Market adoption may be the biggest hurdle, as well as setting up processing plants locally so that waste grease can be used to create the fuel. Manufacturers are not covering it's use under warranty yet (John Deere allows for only 5% of the fuel to be BD) so there are some hurdles.

Natural gas supporters would prefer to see it used as it is even less of a polluter. Counterpoint: It's not renewable.
