Multihomed WLANs from Intel [Slashdot]

Intel is proposing cards that can jump between multiple networks. they can be hardwired or wireless. This would sure come in handy in both offices and at LAN parties. Given that Intel is already working on embedding LAN connectivity into their chipsets, it will be a huge boon for network techs, savvy home users, as well as travellers who want to airsnort though a neighborhood so that they do not lose their connection.

College campuses could provide access to students and faculty alike, combinding this with a wireless IP based telephony solution so that everyone on campus could always be in touch. Ditto for office buildings.

Rob Fahrni: "I'm hoping it will prove that a component Visio engine is necessary. That someone out there needs a service, or the means to create their own, based on Visio technology." I support this.  [Scripting News]

Ditto.
