Transmeta takes the Microsoft Tablet. HPaq blesses Crusoe [The Register]
Hmmm. What's interesting here is the Tiqit which is mentioned at the end of the article. It's a 300MHz hand held PC, that will be out Q4 2002. So it's going to be competing against the OQO and the Estari unit, only it's horribly underpowered by comparison, and for the life of me I cannot figure out their target market.

Sanyo Solar Ark and Giant LED Display [Slashdot: News for nerds, stuff that matters][Link]
Sanyo built this massive (300M) structure to test and show show off the latest in solar technology. They used what had been defective solar cells that they had recalled last year.
Very cool. Imagine if these could be airlifted to remote regions, you would then have a powerplant as well as a water processing plant all in one. This would make for a great town center, or for a remote station on an otherwise barren plain, either for reasearch, or as an aid station. Or, since it houses water, use it terraform an area, with the addition of some sort of device to collect water during the night and or rainy seasons.
