First Foveon Chips Due Soon

Release set for "sharper" digicam chip. The first camera to use a new type of image-sensor chip is finally set to arrive in stores. The camera's maker says the chip produces sharper images with greater color detail. [CNET News.com]


These cameras use the Foveon next gen ccd chip, which gets you better image quality and color depth in the same are as exisiting ships.

Ah, the Star Trek style communicator badge is here. Vocera has developed a badge that allows for WiFi based voice communications. You'll need a Windows 2000 server to run the badges, but this would be great as a replacement for walkie talkies once the price point comes down ($400 USD).
