Linux 'Weblications' with SashXB [Slashdot: News for nerds, stuff that matters] This platform is pretty intriguing - a lightweight version of Java's WebStart. I looked into it when I was working for a modelling -agency ASP and wanted to push out a screen-saver for clients.

... pause ...

Okay, okay - the screensaver of model photos was just for the developers. I admit it. Good excuse to look into a new platform, tho'. ;-)

I saw this client-side javascript library [tibet] linked to from slashdot. The direction they're taking it in looks slightly more promising that mozquito which I think is too dogmatic about XML support, and too heavy-weight in their server-based solution (plus no mention of Opera support.)

Technicalpursuit has a technical roadmap on their site for deploying outside the browser. While it's admittedly vapor, it's cool vapor.
