MS to eradicate GPL, hence Linux

http://www.theregus.com/content/4/25378.html

They backed down over Hailstorm, which was benign in comparison to Palladium. I haven't quite figured out yet why this won't evoke the same response from competitors & the govt. Some back-office deal they made with the DOJ or Senator Fritz Hollings (Disney)?

Opinion: Java to J2EE to Oblivion?

From my Java pal Andre Mesarovic:

also forgot, fyi check out

http://theserverside.com/home/thread.jsp?thread_id=14190

for a "Opinion: Java to J2EE to Oblivion?" forum. I've never seen so much traffic so quickly on a topic at SS on this. I concur on some very much, others less so. Maybe I'll take up my boss on his offer to have me work on .NET stuff.
