Attention OpenACS Speed freaks

ToddG has a good writeup of the speed of Tux vis-a-vis AOLServer.

http://www.toddbrandlabs.com/code/TUX/

I've also found a research project (?) implementing FastCGI module for TUX (via the cgi->fastCGI bridge). Also, I believe Chromium FastCGI support is imminent as well. Chromium is a company of ex-Microsofties who've embraced Linux. I don't know much about the viability of the company or their server software, but it looks pretty cool. Read the case study on the Chromium site about Morpheus using it to serve 20 quadrillion concurrent users.

Anyway, can you see where I'm going with this?

Mono & Portable.NET

It looks like the Mono project accepted it's first major contribution from Portable.NET, gnu's parallel .NET implementation.

I'm glad licensing/ideology issues haven't prevented them from collaborating. Hope it keeps up.
