Tony Bowden, Mr. Class::DBI

I spoke with a friendly Tony Bowden, Class::DBI maintainer, over a couple brewpub pints last night at the perlmongers meeting. He was just finishing up a combined recruiting/EmergingTech-demo tour of the states, as he's working for twingle.com, a start-up making a hosted email mining tool. It sounded very ZOE-esque, and Tony acknowledged that they shared a common inspiration. Twingle.com has additional information discovery (phone number, addresses, etc.) that you'd expect from someone contracting with Mail::Miner author Simon Cozens, but it does not yet have spam filtering capabilities (so hire MattS or JMason already!).

There's a big difference between the kind of mining you can do with ZOE and what an organization would need. I told Tony to check out Intraspect, a stateside company that has put out a very successful KM product based mostly around email mining, permissioning, workflow etc.

I'm excited to get a demo account and give it a try.

What is* TelegraphCQ*?

...support for Continuous Queries over streaming push sources, including multi-query optimization and fault-tolerant parallelism

It sounds very intriguing. I've been involved in more than one clickstream analytics project, and clients always ask for real-time web stats (aka 'streaming push sources'). I hope it makes it out of the research lab.
