So there hasn't been much content on this weblog for a while (actually, you could argue there has never been any real content). There are a few reasons for this - I have been busy, I would like to avoid certain topics that I don't feel can be very productively discussed by me on a public weblog, and I haven't really thought of a theme for what I put up here. This may be changing soon because I am starting to become very involved with automated software testing at work and it will become important to explain a lot of the ideas I have on the topic. And I will probablly want to document my thinking and how it evolves in this domain area. I may even publish some of my writings in the Stories area of this web site and use another feature of Radio that I haven' looked at yet.

On another topic: has anyone else noticed that Apress is putting out some fine .NET books? Even for someone who is not working with C#, there are books that are really helpful in understanding various areas of the .NET world. My list (deliberately not mentioning C# books) includes "The Essential Guide to Managed Extensions for C++" by Siva Challa and Artur Laksberg and "Internationalization and Localization Using Microsoft .NET" by Nick Symmonds.
This weekend I received another book that I have to add to the list. It's "Advanced .NET Remoting" by Ingo Rammer. I'm up to chapter 4 and I have gone from knowing nothing about .NET remoting to understanding it at a intermediate level. The author got me here with a clear explanation of the concepts of remoting and many small examples that did a great job illustrating each point that he wanted to make. Even though I haven't even hit the halfway point, I feel like I have already gotten my moneys worth. Recommended.
