Yow. I haven't posted in a while. I guess I must be busy...
Anyway what I've been thinking about lately is software architecture and design. I've been participating in a group that's been trying to put together the architecture of a system and it hasn't been easy. The people that make up the group are from very different software development backgrounds and we don't have a methodology that we're following (at least that's the way it seems to me).
Since I don't have a lot of experience in this area I've been trying to do some self study on designing systems. I've paged through a number of different books but the one that I chose to read was Design Patterns Explained. This book really resonated with me and actually gave me a whole new appreciation for patterns. In fact, based on this book I plan to go back and re-read the Gang of Four book.
