Scoble on the Invisible Influencers

Scoble writes about how his communication with what he calls the invisible influencers boosted the number of hits on a particular Channel 9 video from a norm of 1000 to 7000.  His post seems to imply that it was all due to an email and an IM from him to one of these people:

"One IM. One email. 7000 people show up. All in 24 hours or so."

Perhaps this was a contributing factor but I don't think that you can give all the credit for what happened to this.  I think the biggest factor was that it was a compelling post - the GM of a product group demonstrating the features of his (IMO, way cool) product.  That's why I linked to that one post (not that I have any great influence)  even though I eagerly view all the Channel 9 videos.  And I'm not on Robert's email or IM list.
