Rory Perry's Weblog Law, technology, and the courts 9th Circuit decision on Pledge of Allegiance
CNN is reporting that a panel of US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit has ruled today that the pledge of allegiance is unconstitutional. 3:34:51 PM [Permanent Link]Buried in the race to Sine Die For the next week at the Court it will be very hectic as Sine Die, or the formal end of the court term, approaches. This is a familiar ritual at appellate courts of all shapes and sizes, as opinions are circulated, edited, and polished, and lawyers rush to bring various emergency matters to the Court's attention before the term ends. Part of today's work for me involves posting summaries of the 30 or so opinions released in the past week on the court's recent opinions blog, with another 25 more opinions to go before the end of the term. By the way, a belated and hearty welcome to Howard J. Bashman, whose appellate blog is a great source of assistance to me on a daily basis.
