More active sun, warmer climate

Could it be that major climate changes are driven by the sun, not man? Since the late 1970s, the amount of solar radiation the sun emits, during times of quiet sunspot activity, has increased by nearly .05 percent per decade. This trend is important because, if sustained over many decades, it could cause significant climate change, said Richard Willson, a researcher affiliated with NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies...

How to extinguish an oil-well fire

Slate: Once an oil well catches fire, how do you put it out? In current circumstances, the fires are the deliberate policy of Saddam Hussein, not accidental events as Slate's phrasing implies. [this item]

What took you so long?

Ajami Saadoun Khlis, whose son and brother were executed under the Saddam regime, sobbed like a child...: You just arrived. You're late. What took you so long? God help you become victorious. I want to say hello to Bush, to shake his hand. We came out of the grave. [via The Guardian]

As similar heart-wrenching stories emerge, I sincerely hope the Western pacifists will apologize and realize that they have effectively been supporters of Saddam's Hell in Iraq: the systematic oppression, torture, and murder of millions of innocents. Will they apologize? will they praise the US- and UK-led coalition of 45 countries who have taken on the responsibility to finally liberate Iraq? will they condemn the immoral regimes who have sought to preserve Saddam in power in the last 12 years, and more particularly in the last 6 months? will they descend by the millions in the streets of our major cities to demonstrate their joy at witnessing the end of such an evil regime? [this item]
