A certain German taste for mass-murderers

What does the German government think of the 9/11 massacre? what about the 3 million people murdered since 1968 by the national-socialist (Nazi/Baathist) regime in Iraq? Well, Herr Schroeder would like to leave Saddam alone, so he can continue to torture and murder Iraqi people, finance terrorists, and threaten the USA as well as Israel: Does the size of the threat posed by the Iraqi dictator justify a decision to wage a war that will surely lead to the deaths of thousands of innocent children, women and men? My answer to this question was and remains: No. Hey, where did that "surely" come from? does the German leader know for a fact that thousands of innocents will die because of the liberation of Iraq? does he have proof positive that all the documented links between Iraq and terrorist groups are nothing to worry about? does he maybe not care about Saddam's victims?

What was his opinion on the liberation of Afghanistan in November 2001? He supported that military action and sent German soldiers in support, despite domestic pacifist opposition: As evidence of the importance military strikes have played in Afghanistan so far, Schroeder cited the freeing of eight aid workers (four were German). Does he value four German aid workers more than the tens of thousands of Iraqis tortured and murdered by Saddam every year?

Strangely, Schroder clearly says and does everything to keep Saddam in power, even after hearing the final ultimatum to Saddam, even after it has become self-evident that US and UK soldiers will liberate Iraq. With that kind of reasoning, the German Nazis would still be in power today, with a terrifying arsenal of nuclear weapons. Surely that's not the kind of world Herr Schroeder wants? [this item]

US Marines and the peace protests

Lt. Gen. James T. Conway, who commands more than 85,000 Marines and British troops poised to attack Iraq, told his troops not to worry about peace protests at home, pointing to a poll showing that 71 percent of Americans want to get the Iraq situation resolved now: When we invade Iraq that'll go up to 91 percent. And you know how I feel about it? Piss on everybody else. [this item]

The Azores Ultimatum

President George W. Bush addresses the nation from the Cross Hall at the White House Monday evening, March 17, 2003. White House photo by Paul Morse. Here is the result of the Azores meeting. Why did they wait for 24 hours to make the announcement? First, resolution 1442 had to be formally withdrawn from the Security Council in response to the unreasonable French promise of a veto. President Bush: The United Nations Security Council has not lived up to its responsibilities, so we will rise to ours. ... All the decades of deceit and cruelty have now reached an end. Saddam Hussein and his sons must leave Iraq within 48 hours. Their refusal to do so will result in military conflict, commenced at a time of our choosing. [this item]

Enemies, power-lusters, cowards, and allies

Now that the time has come to liberate Iraq, it is important to collect the evidence and judge who are true friends of liberty and allies.

Enemies of liberty

  • Militarily active enemies, to be defeated by force (the axis of evil and their colleagues): islamo-fascist terrorist groups (Al-Qaeda, the Palestinian "Authority," Hamas, Hizbollah, etc.) and regimes (Iraq, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lybia, Sudan) as well as stalinist North Korea
  • Primitive anti-americans, to be isolated and weakened (antagonists who enjoy trading with dictators, regularly posture against America, and often support antisemites): France, Germany, Belgium, Sweden
Note: these countries are not allies — although the first three are members of NATO and owe their current freedom to the repeated sacrifice of heroic soldiers from America and Britain (and other English-speaking countries)

Ill-wishers, neurotics, and fair-weather friends

  • Jealous beasts (powerful obstacles) still mired in their horrible communist past, confused about their possibly capitalist future: Russia, China
  • Reluctant helpers (against Al-Qaeda and Iraq) but islamo-fascist at the core: Pakistan, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia
  • Cowards (so-called "neutral" countries, and those who feared a final UNSC vote): Ireland, Finland, Serbia, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Greece, Austria, Canada, Mexico, Chile

Guardians of freedom, and allies

  • The heroic military protagonists (coalition of the willing): USA, UK, Israel, Australia
  • Small but useful military support: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland
  • Supporters (including access to some military material and bases, and non-combat troops): Spain, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Portugal, Denmark, the Netherlands, Estonia, Slovenia, Kosovo
  • Supportive, but busy with the threats of other evil entities at their borders, or domestically: India, Philippines
  • Liberated countries, with rulers aligning themselves on the USA (do they have any other sane option?): Koweit, Afghanistan
