Jinn?
According to critics, an eavesdropper, constantly striving to go behind the curtains of heaven in order to steal divine secrets. May grant wishes.

Liberation is beautiful
NYT:
Hundreds of American troops marched into Najaf at midday today and were greeted by its residents. The infantry was backed by attack helicopters and bombers, and immediately destroyed several arms caches and took over a military training facility to serve as their headquarters...People rushed to greet them today, crying out repeatedly,
Thank you, this is beautiful!Indeed, beautiful.
Highway to Skyway
NY Post:
Marines gave the drive to Baghdad a major shot in the arm yesterday - creating a new military airport in one day. Not far from Baghdad, the Marines transformed one of Saddam's modern highways into a runway for massive C-130 cargo planes that have already started landing there. And they did it all in 24 hours. The newly created 3,500-foot landing strip in the midst of marshy terrain is perfect for delivering fresh ammo, fuel, food and even Rice Krispies Treats to U.S. forces pushing north to the capital.[via Rantburg]
Destroyed
Brig.Gen. Vincent Brooks:
The Baghdad Division has been destroyed. Not degraded, not defeated, destroyed. Referring to the other Republican Guard units, he said:
They're in serious trouble, and they remain in contact now with the most powerful force on Earth. And the explicit theme:
The dagger is clearly pointed at the heart of the Baghdad regime.
One third of the French support Saddam's tyranny
Times Online:
Ill-feeling between Britain and France over the invasion of Iraq has plumbed new depths with the desecration of that most sacred of memorials, a war cemetery. The defilement of Commonwealth [WW I] graves in northern France coincided with a poll for The Times which found that 54 per cent of Britons no longer regarded France as a close ally...
Meanwhile, Le Monde is reporting that 33% of the French oppose a victory for the US and the English
— in other words, they desire Iraqi victory over Coalition forces. Barely more than half voice support for a Coalition victory over Saddam's totalitarian regime, while 14% refuse to make a choice.
InstaPundit:
The French government realizes that it's got a serious problem now. But it's lost control of the hotheads that it set in motion. This is not uncommon with regimes that use xenophobia to distract their populations from hard times and internecine conflict.
I think the French problem is more fundamental. The perfume is of Vichy.
