A Wish: Making Services Usable on OS X
(Note: I'd like to do this, but have neither the time nor the expertise, that latter could be acquired with more of the former, such is life.) Using services on OS X is a pain in the ass. I'm definitely not the first to say it. It's not really practical to define 10 bazillion hotkey combinations, one for each service in the service menu. It's also not very practical to use the mouse to find something in the service menu. What if you only had one hot key (maybe cmd-shift space or something), and then could enter another key combination LaunchBar style. Would you use services more often if that were the case? I sure would. Seems like it may even be possible to implement too. While you're at it add the ability to write services with AppleScript, or maybe even grab the surrounding text before executing a service. ICeCoffEE does something similar. If you'd like to hear some more let me know. I have a few more (less practical) ideas to add to the list. Oh yeah, I would be willing to pay for software like this. I expect others might too.

10.5 Weeks Complete, 5.5 Left
At some point I'll get back to blogging regularly, but at the moment my days outside of work are consumed with related rates problems and proving that such and such particular algorithm is Theta(n). (I'm trying to wait patiently for graph traversal.) Sometimes I wonder if I picked the wrong major since I haven't done any serious math since my junior year in high school. The concepts of calculus are fairly easy to pick up again, it's just that algebra skills get rusty when they go unused for 5+ years =)
