To patch or not to patch....that is the question......if it ain't broke.....
Typically in small offices, once the operating system of a computer is installed, there is no further upgrades on that operating system. If you have a computer, and you don't know what Windows update is or have never used it, you are doing yourself a disservice, potentially exposing yourself to security risks and in general not doing your duty as a cybercitizen.
Stop blaming Microsoft for making software with security holes. You want them to keep making software that is backwards compatible with everything you've ever owned on your computer, then you have the responsibility to install patches as needed.
If you have an operating system of Windows 98 or higher, click on start, Windows Update and let Microsoft scan your operating system for the patch fixes that it needs.
