Being a pengamat is like saying "Look, I don't know squat about this but I'm gonna act like I do anyway."

A pengamat, be it a pengamat ekonomi, politik, perbankan, teknologi, etc. is someone who presents an image of expertise in a particular field but lacks the knowledge about the subject matter. Thus, if you wish to glow like a luminary without the hassle of being a real expert, taking the pengamat path is the way to go.
