A picture named moonglow.jpgThe word 'penumbra' reminds me of a character with the same name from the Ultima series who lived in magical, mystical Moonglow. How I wished I could've lived there.

Tomorrow afternoon there will be a partial solar eclipse passing thru our region. You can view the animation of the path of the Moon's umbral and penumbral shadows here. Partial eclipses are never safe to watch without taking special precautions. For viewing tips look here, or contact your local amateur astronomy club. TIM anyone?

A picture named drakulaPenghisapHP.jpgFrom our beloved daily, Lampu Merah (whose tagline happens to be 'Love, Friends and Peace'): A pair of cell phone muggers were booked and 'displayed' in the traditional Jakarta way. As for the vampire look, it probably came from the fact that at the time they were caught at night they were wearing all black.
