"It is unworthy of excellent [people] to lose hours like slaves in the labor of calculation." (Baron Gottfried Wilhelm Von Leibniz(1646-1716)
... and yet this is exactly what I've been doing tonight. You have to love this stone age computing. But, there's a little checkbox below the calendar on the main page now. It took me a while to figure out how to position it on the page. The checkbox lacks a label (for now) because it messes up the alignment. I was emboldened to tweak my template by following some tips found at The Shifted Librarian's Radio 101 Docs page. It could've gone smoother, but I am new to the tool. It was worth the effort, the added functionality of the checkbox -- it opens each link in a new window -- is something I needed to add. You can toggle it on or off. I will label the checkbox as soon as I figure out how. Next up I want to try displaying the RSS feeds I am subscribed to. Never mind that I am still developing an information ecosystem here to tame the newsfeeds and figure out how to focus on what interests me, because I see this becoming a tool to help me focus on what my core motivations are for being out here in cyberland.
So I managed to add the display of the RSS feeds I am subscribed to in just 10 minutes or so. Your basic learning curve, or sheer beginner's luck? I'm not sure this feature belongs on the front page; I will probably move it to a side page, where I think it might be useful.
