GlobalCN 2002 will be a 5-day event that will include:
- activities of international twinning of communities and organizations, training seminars and academic symposia (8-9 Oct.) Preliminary list of workshops
- after the opening on Wednesday night (9 Oct.), the congress per se will have a duration of two and a half days, Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning (10-12 Oct.). It will include thematic round tables (one for each theme) in plenary session, workshops on these themes and other workshops if necessary
- artistic and cultural activities open to the general public
- an exhibition hall

AT&T Broadband faces lawsuit for Broadband "Redlining"

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Aug 29 (Reuters) - AT&T Corp. (NYSE:T) faced on Thursday a lawsuit alleging the company's cable television business failed to provide high-speed services Internet access in minority areas and improperly charged for services.
AT&T Broadband, the No. 1 U.S. cable television company, rejected the allegations raised in the lawsuit, and said it would defend itself vigorously.
In the lawsuit, which was filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, two plaintiffs alleged that the AT&T Broadband unit company "redlined" or bypassed poor or minority neighborhoods, while offering advanced services in affluent areas. The suit was filed by Gwen Hudson and Cynthia Martin on behalf of themselves and others in allegedly overcharged and underserved markets.
