Radio Userland Kick Start reaches Scotland I have just received an email from Strathclyde University Bookshop, my favourite local bookseller, informing me that my order from June, of Rogers Cadenhead's long awaited RUL Kick Start, has finally arrived. A quick spin on the bike after work today may well secure the eagerly awaited read for the weekend. What I have gleaned from Rogers Cadenhead's sample chapters, as well as from his prompt and generous scripting advise to one of my pupils, leads me to recommend that RadioUserland users may both benefit themselves as well as Rogers by buying his book. 8:30:06 AM      comment ? Of Patronage My thanks go to Bill Connolly, ICT Adviser, North Lanarkshire Council, Education Department, and to Peter Mulheron, head teacher of St. Maurice's High School, who generously afforded us in ISAW, the opportunities for a year, to gain experience with running a G3 and a G4 intranet server, comparing and testing different versions of OSX, tapping into the free Open Source world of Unix, as well as piloting the three R's, Apache and Frontier at St. Maurice's High School, Scotland. They have enabled us to trailblaze and utilise an ICT contents management and environment system, not unlike the ones being increasingly used in cooperate environments to increase productivity, in an educational context with direct benefit to the education of our pupils of ISAW. Unfortunately for us, Bill Connolly required to recall and remove both of our highly customised servers, due to shortages of generic servers in other schools in North Lanarkshire, on October, 24th 2003. 8:20:53 AM      comment ?
