Stapling Web based discussions
With Stapler, a Radio tool by Mark Paschal, I may find a way of rss syndicating the Byte.com discussion forums, wich recently went from NNTP to Web based Jive forums, to my and a lot of others dismay.
Stapler is a website scraper for Radio UserLand. Using it, you can republish parts of regular web pages--your sources--as XML syndication files, or feeds. Most (probably all, in fact) of your feeds will be published in RSS, the basic format for Radio's News Aggregator. [Stapler help]
I haven't played with Stapler yet, but I'm sure I can find a lot of ways to put it to good use.

Widget woes... Jon strikes back
Jon Udell came up with the sensible approach of running a simple 'smoketest' script instead of the original subs code to try and see what the problem is in displaying a subscriptions list in s l a m. As this thread shows, I'm still stuck, trying to figure out some of Radio's not so documented, still outstanding, programming features.
