If a blogger blogs in the woods... will anyone hear them ?

As a charter member in the hermit blogger fraternity I don't really see any community I want to follow or participate in purely for the feeling that I'm connected to other people. I get enough of that from participating in USENet discussion groups (newsgroups for those of us old enough to remember what life was like before the "web"). While I do read a few bloggers religiously (like Dave Winer's Scripting News (Though he probably doesn't count because I've been aware of his site since I first heard about Frontier in the long ago '90s) and Jenny Levine's Shifted Librarian I find them to be good jumpblogs to other places of interest.

It can take a certain amount of ego to think you are important enough that other people comment on your words. While I'm vaguely disappointed that I get very few comments on my blog I don't have an agenda that requires comments.

So... as I sit quietly in my log cabin in the New Hampshire woods, blogging quietly to myself... the wind in the trees is telling me that there is still something out there, that the mysteries you can hear in the wind haven't completely been wiped out by technology.
