Okay, that's disappointing...
Today's food creation tidbit from FoodTV.... Jalepeno 'popper', the kind you buy frozen... are actually half a mild jalepeno, de-veined, all the hot stuff removed, shipped in a pickling brine, stuffed with a pepper shaped piece of cheese (cheddar for the West Coast, Cream cheese for the East), covered in light batter, then covered in a coating of potato flakes, dried, and frozen.
I'm sure I missed a step there... but it doesn't sound very appetizing does it. That deep-fried dill pickle I had in Gatlinburg, TN a few years ago sounds a lot more appetizing...
