Agatha Christie. "If one sticks too rigidly to one's principles, one would hardly see anybody."
I'm a very 'rules-oriented' person, part of being an engineer and perfectionist, I suppose. There are some principles that are clear cut; I won't intentionally share space with those actively committing a crime, including drugs. Yet, there were times in my life where my principles including staying away from smokers, or drinkers. Yesterday, for massage therapy fieldwork, everyone I worked with smoked. No, not during the massage, but afterwards.
Perhaps I'm getting more wise, or perhaps I was just in a mellow mood, as I recognized that smoking is just where they are, and not some affront to me on their health. Smokers get a lot of abuse; yet, they are not alone in the substance abuse camp. Could you pass me some more of those chocolate-peanut butter eggs, please?
