India, Pakistan leaders unlikely to meet. India and Pakistan's leaders arrived at a regional security summit on Monday with little hope that the two nuclear-armed rivals would meet face-to-face over increasing tensions in the disputed Kashmir border region.

I am under no naive misconceptions that a single face-to-face meeting will resolve all the issues. Yet, what kind of immature leaders do these countries (all countries?) have? Meeting with "the enemy" is the only path to making him a partner in the solution. Perhaps it is because going face-to-face means that each side will have to face their lies, deceits, and power ploys... and have a harder time considering wiping out this other human being's family, town, country.

It is a tragedy of human evolution that we have not yet reached the point where honest discussion and seeking a solution are not of paramount importance compared to maintaining the fantasy that "I'm right, he's wrong!!" If millions of people die in this conflict, it will be solely because of this type of ego-driven spiritual immaturity.
