Obesity increases risk of heart failure.

You may have heard this before but a new study to be published in the New England Journal of Medicine tomorrow shows it scientifically. Risk of heart failure is 34% greater for overweight people and 104% greater for obese people. Previous studies concentrated on obese subjects so did not show whether 'mere' overweightness led to an increase in risk. [David Harris' Science News]

Comment: I have observed this over and over in my own body. I still am foolish enough to consume caffeine at times, but each time now my wife is noting the change from demonstrated inner peace to stress feelings.
