Apple Ousts Coder for Being Young. A young developer is booted from participating in Apple's open-source project because he is a minor. What does this mean for other young coders? By Katie Dean. [Wired News]
Now it seems to me that instead of dropping this kid Apple would want to encourage him. I understand the legal reasons for stopping his access but there are other things that could have been done. First off as a business anytime you can spot talent in the rough it seems to me that snubbing them is not your first move. Why wouldn't Apple try to talk to this kid. Maybe have him out the campus and show him around. At such an early age he could be trained and become a great coder for their projects. Apple is the one saying they are after the youth, then why a move like this? It just looks bad to people my age.
