Update:  Went to the dentist AGAIN today because the swelling hadn't gone down and the tooth really hurt still.  This time they opened the tooth up and squoze my face draining it, then cut into my gums to make a sort of drainage duct.  So now I have two gaping holes in my mouth.  The stuff doesn't seem to be in any hurry to drain that's for sure.  The dentist is going to call me in the morning to see how I'm doing so yay for me.  Maybe, just maybe I'll get a decent night's sleep. comment [] 6:45:15 PM

Warning:This is going to be a little graphic so you might not want to read further if you're squeamish.  That said, I just got back from the dentist.  Why is it the cure is worse than the symptoms?  In order to reduce that swelling they re-opened that tooth and began squeezing the infection out of it.  Now this is just grosser than it sounds let me tell you.  On top of that they are leaving it open and expect me to do this at home over the day.  They promise that I'll feel much better later.   Right...when is later?  Cause right now it hurts worse than it did before I went.  I swear I'm dying but my body is too stubborn to give up. comment [] 10:17:48 AM

Ok the entire right side of my face is swollen to at least 3x it's normal size.  This isn't cool.  It all started about a month ago when I needed a root canal and didn't go in for one.  The pain stopped after a week or so and everything was fine.  Well 5 days ago it came back with a vengance so I finally went to the dentist.  He told me by not having gone before it gave the infection a chance to completely destroy the root.  As he was saying this he cut the tooth open and the stench of decaying flesh filled the area.  It seems that the infection after done with the root spread to the tooth and surrounding area.  Now apparently it's spreading all over my face.  Of course it's been a weekend so I couldn't get in touch with him now I'm waiting patiently until 8 so I can call him and get in there.  It's gotten to the point where I can barely keep my right eye open and it's not doing much for my reading.  On top of all this I'm allergic to Penicillin so they always have to give me different antibiotics.  Well the one they gave me made my stomach go absolutely insane so I haven't been able to eat or drink anything besides milk for 2 days.  Needless to say this has been my worst weekend in a long time.  Someone kill me please, I'll give you a shiney dollar.. comment [] 6:35:44 AM
