An article from Wired tells of the new building designs possible with the amazing breakthroughs in polymer and glass design. Maybe, just maybe this will start to take care of one of my pet peve's. I think it's time we stop with all the Roman and Renaissance architecture and move to something more modern and functional. S.C. Johnson just put up a new building in our downtown that's very modern and efficient and it looks better than any of the so called "historical" buildings that surround it. On top of that he's having a bank re-fitted into a muesem with a plastic exterior that will be illuminated from inside to give it an effect of glowing. These two buildings I hope will become a model for the redevelopment of downtown and spur growth in the delapidated district.
I'd also like to thank UserLand for Radio UserLand. When I paid the $40 for the subscription to the software I thought I'd be using it mainly for blogging. As you can see I haven't. But I've gotten more than my money's worth out of it's News Aggregator. It saves me at least an hour a day that I would have spent trolling through news sites looking for information. On top of all the other features this is one of the most cost efficient products I've seen in the computer world in years. Thanks guys!
