I got this from Nollind's site. He and I it seems are looking for the same thing, an easy to use and graphicly pleasing UI for Linux. I'm not a Linux user but the reason is because of it's lack of usability without going to the command line utility. I understand there's a lot of power there and it's very useful but I grew up with DOS and the command line and like most of the world moved on when computers had the power to do a GUI. I have no intention of returning to typing everything I want done. GNOME and KDE just aren't inuitive enough for most people and are bogged down by resources the average user doesn't need. This looks like it could fit the bill nicely with a little more improvement.

Tara Sue makes a guest appearance in a comment thread on Ed Cone's weblog. "I plan to cause the greatest political upset in all of political history," she says. [Scripting News] Tara Sue is the Libretarian candidate running against Coble in NC. She stands for freedom on the internet and is against most things RIAA. Hardly anyone knew she existed till Mr. Coble's latest ideas surfaced and people wondered if there was some opposition to him in his area. The troops are mobilizing, this is the muscle flexing I've been talking about. If anyone can offer help to her please do so. One of the best parts is she realizes where this support is coming from and why. This is the kind of person we need in office.

A little bit of a personal note. My summer job has now been extended. I'm working at Alloc Inc. indefinately now. Unfourtanatly I still haven't gotten a pay raise or benifits but that's in the works I hope. Either way I don't have to head back out the atrocious job market and sell my wares again. I'm thankful for that much, a lot of people are doing a lot worse.

This and this from Nollind Whachell. Some interesting thoughts and ideas on the fight for creativity. This is another new blog that just popped on the map. Every day I'm finding new blogs by incredibly smart and experienced people. Ray Ozzie, the creator of Groove has a blog where he's exploring all things digital. Here's a blog I'd seriously like to see Bill Gates off the cuff. It would be a blog by him with his views of the industry and where it's going. It wouldn't be a Microsoft is releasing blah blah blah blog but one where he takes his experience in the business and shares some of his insights with those of us affected by it. Maybe I should get in contact with Dave and have him pass the idea along.
