The Shah's White Revolution for radical social & economic change caused major problems. He was telling his people to do things they'd never done(i.e.g. telling the women to remove their veils.) Iran's leader backstepped on their entire way of life in favor of these huge industries and the customs they brought. Imagine if our leaders sacrificed our way of life, our individual liberties just because they were smitten with some huge corporation that made them rich? Read that again. Wow...I don't know if I can comment much on this...that's just too right on. BTW this is from Tara Grubb's Weblog. Who says politicians don't have balls....and this is a woman.
Everyone wants to tell a libertarian "Government needs to do this & that for its people." I know this. Every party knows this. I believe that private enterprise does do better than huge spools of red tape. BUT--that doesn't mean the public health department is gonna shut down the day after I take office. That doesn't mean the elementary schools are gonna close their doors. The roads will be built. They will simply be better engineered, better planned. Another shot from her. The more I read the more I wish I lived in NC so I could take pleasure in voting for once.
You're probably gonna see a lot of little snippets from this young lady on my blog for a while. Not only because she's got the balls to say it on the web where the world has a permanent record but because she's got good ideas. Maybe someone in my state will get the idea's she has and use them in the Government, I'd fight for them, I'd give money and technical time and help. Who know's, maybe it'll be me.
