Spent the day in Chicago yesterday, it was much needed. Every now and then I need to be reminded that great men did exist and still do. Kay, Colin and I went to the top of the John Hancock building at night and looked out from the observatory, it was stunning. There were lights as far as the eye could see. A few thoughts kept coming back to my mind, one of them was just a line from a recent song that had nothing to do with the moment but it said it all perfectly, This is how I pray. Another one was that until man got to that spot on Lake Michigan there was nothing but tree's and sand. That area did nothing except survive and exist. Then man came and turned it into an area rivaled only by a few places in the world for it's abundance. Yes most of the sand and tree's are gone but in their place is the material stamp of the greatest force on the Earth, Man's Mind. Every girder of every building was put in place because some man dared to stand on his own judgement and say it was right. Let all the holy books in the world unite and try to erect a single sky-scraper. Let all the people who say that man cannot know or that reality is just a mirage created by man's senses make one interstate to get him to his lecturn to spew his intellectual filth.
The next thought brought a tear to my eye literally. Much of the globe is trying to take this away. Every generallity spoken against man's mind is another blow. Every time the will of the people wins over the will of the individual is like turning out one of those precious lights. I don't know how they've wisthstood this much already but I know that they can't take much more. What will you do when the world is reverted back to digging the ground for roots to eat as your sustanance because man's mind was destroyed? I'll be somewhere far away with my only true friends rebuilding that which you've destroyed only this time we'll let you die before you ever set your eyes upon something that only we could concieve.
