Well you can tell it's late October and PDC time cause the Longhorn news is a flying. Apparently sometime in November the boys in Redmond will release the PDC build 4051 (which will be given to developers at the event) to the general public, for a small fee.
I don't know what's going on up there lately but I like it. Never have they given this much access to an OS so early on in it's development. They say that they want a lot of people to use it and provide feedback so that they can make it an OS that's impossible to hate. I think I believe them.
Microsoft is once again a company that is amazing me every day.
A side note on 4051. According to MS sources the build is rock solid and runnable. Aero (the new UI) is not in this build. I would assume that since the product is still over 2 years away they don't want to let the UI go so that the Lindows crowd clone it before MS can release what is supposed to be a stunning enviornment. Althought I'd love to play with it I understand the policy.
