The Cognitive Style of PowerPoint by Edward Tufte: "Edward Tufte has a new 24-page pamphlet out called The Cognitive Style of PowerPoint on how to improve your PowerPoint presentations [...]" [kottke.org] [Universal Rule]

Way to go Matt and Paolo, this thing has cool potential. I'm still struggling with some organizational principles to make it easer to gain way-finding experience when navigating the topic hierarchy. I'm reading two papers one from the HP guys on semantic blogging that I found on dave's site and a second I keep sending people (Matt) to read called "Structured information with mental models, A tour of Boston". The goal being to structure the topic information in a way to make mental maps for a tour of Blogston. A actionable plan or project is forming in my head. It involves an interface akin to a popup desktop where you would place topics in a way that was familiar to you. Using that placement we can adapt the navigation hopefully making it easer for you to guess where a new needed topic might be located in the space.

k-collector goes live.

Paolo and I are now subscribed to a single shared cloud (called WWWW) of topics using the k-collector server and client for Radio.

This means that our posts will be aggregated together by k-collector on the basis of the topics we use.  The demo interface shows a simple hierarchical view but we have lots of other things planned.

Another poweful feature of this setup is the shared topic roll.  Because we are both subscribed to the WWWW topic roll we use the same topics and any topics we create are automatically made available to other subscribers.

For example I am creating a topic 'Paolo Valdemarin' to attach to this post.  In a little while Paolo's client will automatically have this new topic available for those moments when he wishes to talk about himself!

[Curiouser and curiouser!]
