Sports Illustrated's 50 States in 50 Weeks series spotlights Alaska this week. It's Alaska week in SI for a very specific reason - it's Iditarod week - the ceremonial race start is this Saturday here in Anchorage. The real start is Sunday in Willow.
SI's Alaska factoids are pretty fun - they did a good job. And, Trajan Langdon, the nephew of my very good buddy, Mary, is SI's special guest Alaska columnist.
It is so true - Alaska is a very small town. There is a max of two degrees of separation between all of us. Everyone knows everyone else - or if they don't, they know someone who does.
