This is where I believe a lot of software patents come up short. MailBlocks gets (purchases) patents and then goes on a litigation expedition. Recent readings I've seen show a large prior art base that invalidates MailBlocks' claim, but it will take big money to prove it in court. Hopefully Earthlink weathers the storm.
