The humidity today was terrible, especially because of the rain. It really felt like the tsuyu, although it's at least a month early. As the final ferry docked, there was a brief- but very pleasant- breeze, and everyone said, almost in unison, suzushii- the first time I've heard this word this year. It refers to something refreshingly cool- so really, it's a little early to be using it yet, I think. But then again, everything this year seems earlier than normal.     

Walking back to the port for the final ferry, there was a metallic chirping from one of the tree by the road. Could this be the first semi (cicada) of the year?
