Mos Burger Freezing

Surreal moment of the day (perhaps the week, in fact)...
Discussing with the head of the office the relative merits of electric shavers and shaving by hand, while in the hair-colour section of the local supermarket...
And no, don't ask why we were in the hair-colour section; neither of us bought anything even vaguely hair-colouring-related. Unless the big boss crept back secretly afterwards...

What have I learned today? Well, first and foremost would have to be 'Don't try teaching lessons at 9.30 on a Monday morning'. I went to Tsukumo Elementary School, and it really was like trying to get blood from a stone. No matter what I asked, there was hardly any response (this school is normally pretty good as far as question-answering goes), and even if there was a response, then the answer was so lame that I was left wishing that the question had gone completely unanswered. For example, we did greetings in Italian and French a few lessons back, and so I showed the flags of these countries (the boys knew them anyway, because of the football). But when I showed one of them this morning, the best answer- the only answer!- I got was 'England'. Well, I can't remember how many times I've showed the children the Union Flag (and the English and Scottish flags), but it probably runs into the low thousands- so why on earth did they think that the Italian flag was the Union Flag?
