There's nothing like miso-shiru at just gone 11 on a wet Saturday night. I made tonjiru, and enjoyed it so much that I went for a second helping, this time of aka-miso. Of course, 'making' actually means putting some paste into a bowl and pouring hot water over it, but even so, I suppose it counts as Japanese cooking. In some sense of the term, surely...

I did spend some time considering how to take this weblog forward, though. I'm not going to tbe in Japan for ever- I don't think, anyway- and so the subtitle 'ramblings and musings from a small Japanese island' will sooner or later cease to describe this weblog. But I'm already attached to the Breakfast Show, and so I don't want to end it when I leave here. Anyway, I reckon I've come up with a solution. I'm going to change the subtitle, and with it the definition of my weblog. What I'm going to change it to, though, is still undecided...

Well, not surprisingly, I did all of nothing on the Navy article today. Instead, I read a whole John Grisham novel ('The Brethren'), and took things easy. Very pleasant.
