Planned to go to bon-odori, but then decided not to. Not been asked to help, so not particularly interested in going.

Because I started a new year's contract, my holidays start afresh too, so I checked how many days I could take

In fact, there's so little to do at work, I decided to take tomorrow off. It won't hurt to have a day at home, and in any case I need to get a few things together for my trip to Kyushu.

Breakfast Show Staple Randomhaiku of the day (from The Genuine Haiku Generator)

pikes meander, strut
sharks kill, clean dogs submerge
poltergeists hum, dire

It's so quiet at work today. A fair proportion of people are taking time off for O-Bon, and the phones hardly ever ring. It should be easier to work with so few interruptions, but in fact there's a sort of holiday feeling, which makes it all the more tempting to take things easy and read the internet...
