In the end, Kirikushi went well. I taught the second years shinkei-suijaku using English greetings, and with the fourth years I did Go Fish, using colours and shapes. The second years had a great time; the fourth years enjoyed themselves, but not quite so riotously as is normally the case in other schools with Go Fish. But more than anything, I was relieved to see that the teachers didn't seem any different to normal. The only slight note of discord came when N-sensei commented to me that she'd drawn up a plan 'in accordance with your orders'- but I think it's safe to say that she can be ignored.
